Marketing Topic of the Week:
“What’s the Difference Between Personal and Professional Accounts on Facebook and Instagram?”
In order to get the best results from these platforms, it’s important to have a solid understanding of what they are capable of and how you can use their features to your advantage. You probably already have a personal account on Facebook or Instagram. This week we’re going to cover why you should have a business account in addition to your personal account. Then, in the oncoming weeks we’ll dive deeper into some of the features you should be using inside the business suite.
I already have a personal Facebook and Instagram page that I post my work on. Why would I need another account?
Reason #1.
The reach of your personal profile is limited to who is on your friend list. Sure, you might have your privacy settings set to public but ultimately, personal profiles are not designed to reach a broader audience. Business profiles, however, are designed to get your posts in front of as many people as possible.
Reason #2.
Many of us use our personal Facebook profiles to share details about our life, post photos of our loved ones, etc. Using your personal Facebook profile to do this while also trying to get your profile in front of new people to show your art to opens you up to a lot of safety risks. Having a business profile that is separate from your personal profile allows you to grow your audience without compromising your privacy.
Reason #3.
Having a business account grants you access to a helpful feature called the “Meta Business Suite”. These features, most of which are free, will help you manage your content, understand your audience, and create more targeted and affective marketing efforts. We’ll dive deeper into these features and exactly how to use them in the oncoming weeks.
